About

The idea for Lava Luau started with a wedding in Hawaii. While planning for the trip, I wanted something to wear that reflected both the laid-back island atmosphere and my own modern style. But after searching for Hawaiian and tiki apparel that felt fresh, bold, and contemporary, I realized it simply didn’t exist. Most options felt outdated, overly traditional, or didn’t fit the energy of today’s fashion.

At the same time, I was discovering Los Angeles' thriving tiki scene, where classic Polynesian bar culture met modern creativity. That mix of vintage tradition and fresh, artistic expression resonated deeply. With a background in fashion and experience running a custom apparel shop, I saw an opportunity. Instead of just searching for modern aloha wear, I decided to create it. I shifted my business to focus on designing Hawaiian-inspired clothing that blends bold patterns, premium fabrics, and a contemporary fit, bringing a new edge to island fashion.

Lava Luau isn’t about recreating the past—it’s about evolving it. Every design takes inspiration from classic aloha shirts, tiki motifs, and tropical aesthetics, but with a modern twist - refined, wearable designs that stand out.

Today, Lava Luau is built around three distinct collections, each inspired by a different aspect of modern island culture.

  • Modern Floral takes the timeless beauty of tropical florals and sharpens them with high-contrast, contemporary designs.
  • Neo Classics reimagines island fashion through the lens of synthwave, glitch art, and futuristic aesthetics.
  • Tropical Oddities celebrates the playful, kitschy, character-driven side of tiki and retro island style.

From Hawaiian shirts and dresses to high-top sneakers and boots, every Lava Luau piece is designed for those who want more than just fashion—they want a statement. Whether you're hitting a tiki bar, heading to a summer festival, or just looking to add something bold and modern to your wardrobe, Lava Luau is here to bring island energy into the now.

Welcome to Lava Luau—where tradition meets the future of aloha wear.
